Welcome to our new downsized home for empty-nester living.
When we looked at this home the first time, we were greeted by a foyer that was dark, narrow, and closed off. The flooring was done in a narrow oak plank and the ceiling was peppered with several odd dome-like skylights.
I opted for sconces in this hallway instead of overhead lighting but if you go this route you need to consider how far the sconces project from the wall. Some of them extend out quite a bit and will be at risk of being bumped or just make the hallway feel narrow.
This fixture also had some prerequisites to consider. I wanted it to be large enough to make a statement but I needed it to not drop down too far or I would have a real issue with opening the front door.
My darling daughter-in-law was visiting from South Korea about the time we moved in and she was a sport and helped me put this entry cabinet together. Now, every time I look at it, I think of her.
